Carole’s story
Carole Sach is a founding-member of Gallipoli & Dardanelles International and she has a direct connection with Gallipoli through her Grandfather, William Pritchard, who was a member of the Australian Imperial Force 4th Battalion, Regiment 1422.
William was killed in action between 6 – 9th August 1915 during the bitter fighting at Lone Pine in the ANZAC sector.
Carole had known of her Grandfather’s war death since childhood, but her interest was re-kindled when she made a connection with Gallipoli, a location she knew very little of. Encouraged, Carole carried out research which included a brief visit to the Gallipoli peninsula in 2008. She has continued her investigations and piece by piece has been able to assemble an impressive life story for William.
