Remembrance Sunday In London
For the first time members of Gallipoli & Dardanelles International joined the Parade at Whitehall for the annual Remembrance Sunday Commemoration. G&DI was well-represented with an assembly of marchers from Turkey, France, Australia, New Zealand and Britain participating. A cool, early morning start gave way to brilliant sunshine at 11.00am, when a two-minute silence was kept and thousands of onlookers packed the pavements of Whitehall in bowed and silent reflection.
Later, G&DI members joined 10,000 veterans in the march past the Cenotaph to the stirring accompaniment of massed bands. HRH Prince Andrew took the salute as the Parade wheeled into the Paradeground at Horse Guards. G&DI members later enjoyed lunch and good fellowship at the Charing Cross Hotel:
