Remembrance Day In London
Gallipoli and Dardanelles International attended the Remembrance Day service at the Australian War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner. The service, led by Father Kevin Scully, attracted a small but devoted crowd of onlookers and official representatives.
Deputy Chief of Army, Major General Peter Gilmour AO DSC, read the poem “In Flanders Fields”. Other readings were made by Mr Andrew Todd, Deputy High Commission for Australia, and Group Captain Paul Nicholas, Air Force Advisor London.
Wreaths were laid by Australian Service Representatives, Agents-General for the Australian States, London Legacy, Gallipoli & Dardanelles International and members of the public.
A bugler from the Household Division played The Last Post, after which a one-minute silence was kept. Brigadier Bill Sowry AM CSC, Head, Australian Defence Staff, recited The Ode of Remembrance.
