A New Year Message From The President
Dear Friends
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a healthy and prosperous New Year. As you are all aware, 2015 is the Centenary of the Gallipoli Campaign. In some ways it seems amazing that 100 years have passed since those tragic times. My father took part at Suvla Bay in August 1915, was wounded but fortunately survived. I am sure many of you who had relatives at Gallipoli will be having your own quiet thoughts and reflections.
Although we live in a troubled world, it is very reassuring that all those countries involved in the conflict are now at peace with each other and enjoying international friendship.
Our aims at G&DI—remembrance, friendship and education— I believe are so important in every way.
I do hope you will become involved in many of our activities during the year. Wherever you are — in the UK or overseas— please let us know of events taking place so that we can share them through our network.
I look forward to working with you in the coming year.
With my very best regards
John Crowe
President
