An interesting article which may re-write the story of the Kiwis at Gallipoli has just been released by 3 News NZ. It gives details of the first New Zealand soldier killed in WW1, together with the assertion, backed by historians, that the number of Kiwis who served at Gallipoli has always been under-estimated and that the corresponding NZ casualty rate was in fact much closer to that of the Australians.
