Anzac Day, Saturday 25 April 2015
Being the Centenary of the Gallipoli campaign, this Anzac Day is special and commemorations are being held right across Britain throughout the year.
NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM
Gallipoli & Dardanelles International will be commemorating this historic centenary at the Gallipoli Memorial within the grounds of the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
President John Crowe will lead an Anzac Day Service of Remembrance in the Millennium Chapel at 12 noon, followed by a service and wreath-laying ceremony at the adjacent Gallipoli Memorial at 12.45pm. LONDON
5.00am: Dawn Service, Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner
This service will last approximately 60 minutes. Tickets are not required, however please carry photographic identification with you.
Attendance for this event is expected to be up 40—50%, and with an expected 5,000 people converging on Hyde Park Corner it is recommended that you arrive at 3.30am.
11.00am: Wreath Laying Ceremony and Parade, The Cenotaph, Whitehall.
The wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph on Whitehall has been designated a National Commemoration for 2015. For this Gallipoli Centenary year the event is being organised by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
Participation in the Cenotaph service, either by marching or viewing from the reserved area is limited to descendants of the Gallipoli campaign or members of the Gallipoli Association only, who have successfully applied for and been granted entry passes.
1.00pm: Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving, Westminster Abbey. Please note that due to exceptionally high demand, seating for Westminster Abbey is now fully subscribed for Anzac Day 2015.
Security for all commemorative events at Westminster will be rigid. If you have applied for and received tickets for any of these events you will need to arrive early and produce both your ticket and photo ID to gain admittance.
