Annual General Meeting (General Assembly) of ‘de l’Association Nationale pour le Souvenir des Dardanelles et Fronts d’Orient ‘ in Paris

President John Crowe attended the annual General Assembly of the above Association both as a member and representing G&DI in the spirit of Remembrance, Friendship and Education. It was very well attended with over 50 members present.

A video film and photographs were shown of the Association’s visit to Gallipoli in September 2015 to commemorate the centenary of the campaign. During that visit there were wreath laying ceremonies at both the Turkish and French Memorials. They were joined at both the ceremonies by John Crowe and G&DI members together with members of the Turkish Gallipoli Association (Gelibolu Dernegi).

A welcoming lunch was organised following the meeting. The guest speaker historian Mr Patrick Falcon gave an enthralling talk on the events both during and after the Gallipoli/Dardanelles campaign at Salonika.

The President was able to welcome two new members to G&DI.
