G&DI together with Gelibolu Dernegi visit the directorate of Gallipoli Historical Site for an update on restoration work on Gallipoli Monuments

Thanks to arrangements made by Gelibolu Dernegi we were fortunate to be able to visit the Vice Chairman Mr Zulkuf Memis.

Mr Memis was extremely helpful and explained that it was planned that the maintenance work on the Gallipoli Monuments would be completed over the next three months. However, they have discovered that the metal frameworks were more corroded that at first thought which might result in the work taking longer.

Every effort will be made to complete the work as soon as possible.

Mr Suleyman Tas, President of Gelibolu Dernegi, presented Mr Memis with the latest edition of Gelibolu Breeze and G&DI President presented a G&DI Shield to remember the occasion.

It was a most enjoyable meeting and we thank Mr Memis for his hospitality.
