Dan van der Vat. Journalist, naval historian and former chief foreign leader writer on the Guardian Died 9th May 2019.
It is with great regret and sadness that we announce that our friend and colleague Dan van der Vat died on the 9th of May 2019 aged 79 years.
Dan was an active member of our International Committee.
He had a very distinguished career as a Journalist and Naval Historian. Finally retiring as Chief Foreign Leader writer for the Guardian.
Dan wrote two excellent books on the Gallipoli Campaign namely ‘The Dardanelles Disaster – Winston Churchill’s greatest failure’ and ‘The ship that changed the world’.
