Gallipoli & Dardanelles International visits the village of Kucuk Anafarta, during visit to Turkey.

During their visit to Turkey in September, members of G&DI visited the village of Kucuk Anafarta, at the invitation of the Village Headman, Mr Ahmet Tuzcuoglu, his wife and fellow Villagers. This was arranged by Suleyman Tas, President of Gelibolu Dernegi.
The welcome to the village was extremely warm and hospitable. Lunch was also provided, from their local produce. It was delicious and very generous.
Whilst there the President of G&DI presented Mr Ahmet Tuzcuoglu, with a framed photograph of the church in the Village of Snettisham, Norfolk, UK. This had been given by the Snettisham Parish Council as a gesture of friendship.
Mr Tuzcuoglu, then gave a framed photograph of Kucuk Anafarta to be passed on to the Village of Snettisham, together with some beautifully created items of handcraft which had been created by his wife.
It was a wonderful occasion and it is hoped that the friendship between Kucuk Anafarta and Snettisham in Norfolk, will go from strength to strength.
The aims and objectives of G&DI are ‘Remembrance’, ‘Friendship’ and ‘Education’.
