ANZAC DAY AT THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM 25TH APRIL 2025

Dear Friends,
Gallipoli and Dardanelles International will be represented at the National Memorial arboretum, on ANZAC DAY this year on 25th April 2025
We have done so every year, since we were founded in 2013, apart from the lock down years.
If you are able to, please join us.
As the chapel service starts at 12noon, please try to be there by 11.30am.
After the service, our Standard will lead the procession from the Chapel to the Gallipoli Memorial. There is then a short ceremony at the Memorial, during which wreaths are laid, including one for G&DI.
The Memorial was the inspiration of, and designed by, Mr Nadir Imamoglu, who is Turkish. Mr Imamoglu, who is now a member of G&DI, has been organising these annual memorial ceremonies since the Memorial was created.
Refreshments are available at the Arboretum both before and after the ceremony.
The Arboretum is located on Croxall Road, Alrewas, in Staffordshire, just off the A38/A513 between Lichfield and Burton upon Trent. It has a large paid car park. For sat nav use postcode DE13 7AR.
Lichfield Trent Valley is the closest railway station and is five miles away.
Taxis can be booked from City Cars (01543 254 999) and Ambassador Taxis (01283 544 700) who offer special pre-booked taxi rates for Arboretum visitors.
I do hope that some of you will be able to attend.
With best regards,
John Crowe
President
