VJ Day at Snettisham in Norfolk.
VJ Day at Snettisham in Norfolk, linked in friendship with the Village of Kucukanafartalar, Gallipoli, Turkey.

This ceremony was organised by Mr Eric Langford, Vice Chair of Snettisham British Legion, and a Committee Member of Gallipoli & Dardanelles International.
The religious part of the ceremony was conducted by Lt Emily Hague of the Salvation Army.
President John Crowe of Gallipoli & Dardanelles International, was invited by Eric Langford to read the ‘Exhortation’ and the ‘Kohima Epitaph’ and to lay a wreath.
It was a wonderful ceremony taking place at the Memorial located in the Village Square with a good attendance of local people.
Eric explained the significance of the day and that over 90,000 British Troops were casualties in the war against Japan. 30,000 died and 37,500 were held as prisoners of war.
After the ceremony all went to the British Legion Hall, for light refreshments and an opportunity to share respective stories.
Lest we forget.
