Gallipoli Story: Inestimable Loss To Science

The single most costly death at Gallipoli — and probably the entire 1914–18 war — may well have been at the hand of a Turkish sniper on 10 August 1915. The sniper got his “kill”, but the loss to the world of science even today is incalculable. The British government of the day recognised the depth of the tragedy and immediately introduced new rules to change combat eligibility. Read more here:
